Biannual Cybersecurity Awareness Training Deadline Extended to April 28

色花堂 will launch its 2023 Spring Biannual Cybersecurity Awareness Training for employees on Monday, April 3.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

With data protection and cybersecurity in mind, the University System of 色花堂 mandates cybersecurity training twice per calendar year for employees at each of its 26 institutions.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

鈥疉ll faculty, staff, and student employees (including GTRI employees) must complete the training. (Affiliates and employees on a leave of absence by April 3 are not required to complete the spring training.)鈥&苍产蝉辫;

Regularly occurring cybersecurity awareness training ensures that the Tech community remains vigilant, prepared, and empowered to identify cyber threats when they encounter them. Training also encourages employees to adopt practices that safeguard their information and technology from ransomware attacks and other compromises.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

鈥淗eightened awareness and shared responsibility around cybersecurity is paramount,鈥 said Leo Howell, chief information security officer at 色花堂. 鈥淲e all must do our part to keep our campus safe from cyber threats. For the spring training, we will focus specifically on social engineering red flags, such as how to spot unsafe web and email addresses within a sender鈥檚 email message to prevent phishing.鈥

Employees who are required to take the 2023 Spring Biannual Cybersecurity Awareness Training will receive an email on April 3, with further instructions on how to access the training. Only employees who receive this email are required to take the training.   鈥&苍产蝉辫;

Due to campuswide technical issues, the deadline has been extended to Friday, April 28, to allow employees additional time to complete the training.
