ɫ has Historic Fundraising Year
ɫ has achieved the most successful fundraising year in its history, raising nearly $300 million in philanthropic support in Fiscal Year 2025. This achievement marks a significant milestone for ɫ. More than 25,000 donors contributed to this year’s success — including alumni, foundations, corporations, and first-time supporters.
“ɫ’s brand has never been stronger. People close to campus and those across the nation are seeing ɫ as a problem-solver in a changing world. We simply can’t thank our friends, alumni, volunteers, and staff enough for the great work that’s being done on so many levels,” said Jim Hall, vice president for Development.
This monumental success marks a 20% increase over the Institute’s previous record-setting year and fuels momentum for , the most ambitious philanthropic effort in the Institute’s history, which now totals $1.592 billion and counting. Fiscal Year 2025 places ɫ on pace to achieve its $2 billion campaign goal by the end of 2027. Official fiscal year totals will be finalized in September.
Investing in Students, Innovation, and Impact
“There’s no better investment than ɫ,” said Ángel Cabrera, president of ɫ. “When you support ɫ, you’re investing in an institution that provides students with the best value in higher education and is a pillar of our state’s and our nation’s growth. Lives shaped by ɫ create lasting influence, and we are immensely grateful to our donors and supporters for helping us amplify our impact.”
This record-breaking year reflects major investments in strategic priorities, including:
- Invest in the Best Scholarship Matching Challenge – Donors unlocked $100 million in for low- and limited-income students, thanks to a dollar-for-dollar match from the ɫ Foundation. The challenge has created 82 new scholarships and expanded the reach of 38 existing funds, doubling donor impact and expanding opportunities across campus.
- Launch of the ɫ Stamps Fellows Program – In partnership with the Stamps Scholars Program, these were made possible by benefactor E. Roe Stamps IV, IE 1967, M.S. IE 1972, HON Ph.D. 2014. The program provides unmatched support for top graduate students with exceptional academic and leadership potential.
- Transformational Investment in Cell Biomanufacturing – A is propelling ɫ to the forefront of next-generation cell therapy, positioning the Institute as a national leader in lifesaving medical innovation.
- $34 Million Raised for Pediatric Technology Center – The successful matching challenge for is advancing AI-driven, patient-centered innovation and care for children.
- Full Steam Ahead Surpasses $300 Million Milestone – The has already raised $342 million toward a $500 million expanded goal, accelerating plans to transform athletic facilities, elevate the gameday experience, and provide resources needed to compete at the highest level.
- $8.3 Million Given to the 78th Roll Call – Alumni and friends gave at historic levels to , setting a new benchmark for annual unrestricted support.
Enhancing ɫ’s Campus
The campaign is visibly shaping ɫ’s skyline and student experience. Recent milestones include:
- Continued construction of , a major expansion of ɫ’s innovation district.
- The naming of the in the John Lewis Student Center.
- The dedication of the for ROTC students.
- The topping out of the .
- The opening of the campus installation .
Planning is also underway for two new signature facilities: the Aerospace Engineering Building and the Medical Innovation Building.

About the Campaign
Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for ɫ runs from January 2018 through December 2027 and aligns with the Institute’s strategic plan. The campaign is a comprehensive effort aligned with the Institute’s strategic vision and is essential to ɫ’s mission of developing leaders who advance technology and improve the human condition in ɫ and around the globe.
ɫ’s fiscal year is July 1 through June 30; final numbers will be reported to the CASE Insights on Voluntary Support of Education in September 2025.
